Travel Nurse RN - Operating Room - $2,616 per week in Reno, NV

Support a broad patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics, performing and assisting with procedures including trauma, neurosurgery, robotics (Da Vinci Xi), urology, vascular, open heart, general surgery, orthopedic trauma, pediatrics, plastics, and ENT. Provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process - assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation - across an entire episode of care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process - assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation - across an entire episode of care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including their families and caregivers
• Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems in a high-volume Level II Trauma OR environment consisting of 18 operating rooms
• Support a broad patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics, performing and assisting with procedures including trauma, neurosurgery, robotics (Da Vinci Xi), urology, vascular, open heart, general surgery, orthopedic trauma, pediatrics, plastics, and ENT
• Coordinate care between interdisciplinary professionals and demonstrate age-specific competency standards for all populations served
• Apply intensive and continuous clinical judgment to ensure safe patient outcomes while meeting unit and department quality standards
• Call coverage is required as part of this position

Required Qualifications

• Active Nevada State RN License required prior to start date
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Competency Assessment (CMP) completed within 1 year of start date (required for Pre-op/Recovery RN, PACU, OR, and SDS roles)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Trauma OR setting
• Prior travel nursing experience of at least one completed 13-week assignment required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced trauma environment comparable to a Level I Trauma Center in volume and pace
• Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgical systems, including Da Vinci Xi
• Experience with neurosurgical, vascular, or open heart OR procedures
