Weekday shifts are 2 - 8 hours. On call duty is required 1 day per week. Weekend shifts required every 4 weeks. Approximately 50% holiday work may be necessary. The unit has 15 operating rooms and an additional hybrid room shared with another department. There are an average of 45 cases per day between the operating room and a specialized unit. Nurses will be working alongside charge nurses, staff RNs, surgical techs, and aides. Staff will use various technology and equipment, including an electronic medical record system, IV pumps, and robotics. No floating to other departments is expected. A preceptor will assist during the initial orientation week. Scheduling operates on a 4-week cycle, with schedules provided in advance.
