Job Title: RN - OR Circulator Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Circulator Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift, 4 x 10s Hours per Shift: 0700 to 1630, Monday to Thursday Experience: 2 to 3 years License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS (within six months of employment), PALS (within six months of employment for applicable roles) Must-Have: - Graduate from an accredited school of nursing - Credentials in area of practice preferred Description: The O.R. Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients across the age spectrum within the Surgical Services Department. The nurse supervises and coordinates care planning with other disciplines. This position is represented by a nursing association. The role requires adherence to the corporate compliance code of conduct. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in providing care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served are essential. The nurse will function as a scrub, circulating, or float nurse in the operating room as assigned. Responsibilities include maintaining established policies and procedures and departmental objectives. The nurse will participate in safety and infection control standards. The position requires the provision of optimal physical and emotional environments for patients. Rotational assignments may be assigned as needed to different units. The nurse must maintain certifications and education requirements outlined by regulatory agencies. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status relative to age-specific needs is necessary. This role requires familiarity with essential equipment and adherence to confidentiality regulations. Physical demands include frequent bending, lifting, and patient transfer. Potential exposure to blood and body fluids is a consideration for this role. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
