The following skills and experiences are required: - Experience with laparoscopic assisted cases for Bariatric procedures - Experience with appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, and Whipple for General Surgery - Experience with cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy, and lumbar fusion for Client - Experience with arthroscopy and closed/open reduction of fractures for Orthopedics - Experience in microvascular free flap techniques for Plastic Surgery - Experience with organ donation for Transplant - Experience with cystoscopy, nephrectomy, and prostatectomy for Urology - Experience with trauma cases including amputations and gunshot/stab wounds - Skills in response to codes, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia Key professional knowledge includes administration of blood products, infection control, radiation safety, and universal protocol procedures. Open to 13-26 week contracts, as preferred by the traveler. Position requires a minimum of 2.5 years of operating room experience. First-time travelers are not accepted. Weekend requirement is 1 per month. On-call requirement is up to 1 per week, though it typically is not often. Travelers may float within their skill set, although this is rare. Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility. Facing a diverse range of cases is expected, with all service lines being utilized except cardiovascular. Experience with Cerner charting system is preferred.
