Description: Position involves assisting in surgical procedures across various specialties. It is expected to manage a patient ratio of 1:1. Experience with Neuro surgeries such as laminectomies and cranial surgeries, as well as orthopedic procedures like total knees and hip surgeries is required. Familiarity with Medtronic and Stryker navigation systems is preferred. Support will be available from Charge Nurse, Leads, and Supervisors on the unit. The charting system in use is EPIC, and familiarity with equipment such as Alaris and Pyxis is needed. Cross-training to General specialty and Urology center may occur. No floating to other hospitals or sites is permitted. Variable start times between 5:30 AM and 7:00 AM are expected. Holiday shifts can be worked, or they can be taken unpaid. On-call expectations include a 30-minute response time and a call schedule subject to staffing needs. Scrub colors will be provided by the facility, and surgical bouffants should cover any personal scrub caps. No call rooms are available. Access to food options such as Starbucks and a cafeteria is available on campus. Free parking is provided with a shuttle service to and from the parking structure.
