Description:
Please ensure traveler is aware of specific expectations.
Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team."
There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team.
Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed for each emergency event, as impacts may vary.
By signing your contract for this position, you accept the above expectations and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event were to occur.
You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with the above.
The average daily census is 10 with 4 rooms.
Staff may need to float to other departments if the census is low.
Call is required 1 day per week and every 4th to 5th weekend.
The shift starts at 0600.
The first week on the unit will involve 2 days of buddy call.
The OR circulator is responsible for OR surgery, C-sections, PACU, and endoscopy.
The RN and scrub tech on call must arrive within 30 minutes of call-out.
Although not a trauma facility, it is possible to have one-off cases come through the ER.
References may be required.
NURSYS reports must be sent with the profile and should be up to date.
Resources who have worked as permanent staff must be separated from the system for 1 full year before returning as travel staff.
