Description:
Travelers must be aware of the assignment requirements.
Upon accepting a position, the unit manager may assign travelers to an "Emergency Team."
Travelers will be expected to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team.
Specific pay details will be provided for each emergency event.
Travelers should not apply if they are not comfortable with these expectations.
The average daily census is approximately 10 patients.
There are 4 operating rooms in the facility.
Travelers may be required to float to other departments if the census is low.
On-call requirements include 1 day per week and every 4th to 5th weekend.
The shift will typically be from 06:00 to 14:30.
The unit requires the RN to respond within 30 minutes of a call-out.
Although it is not a trauma facility, occasional trauma cases may occur.
The hospital setting is described as a small rural facility with a multi-disciplined staffing approach.
Responsibilities include OR Surgery, C-sections, PACU, and Endoscopy.
There will be 2 days of buddy call during the first week on the unit.
Preferred experience includes community hospital settings.
Additional skills required: proficiency in various surgical procedures, infection control, and patient monitoring.
Interdisciplinary support includes therapy services, radiology, and social services.
The patient age groups served include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
