Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:30 - 15:00) Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: CV experience Description: This position requires the traveler to be aware of potential assignments to an "Emergency Team." The expectation is to remain at the facility until after the event passes or to join the relief team. Details pertaining to pay during emergency events will be communicated as necessary. By accepting this travel contract, the traveler agrees to report as assigned during emergencies. The role includes working 2 of the 4 designated holiday periods annually. Holidays include Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Availability for holiday assignments is based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation. The daily caseload is typically between 10 to 25 cases. The unit operates with around 7 rooms available. Call may be required on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Two weekends per 6-week schedule are mandated. Travelers will have access to green scrubs, which will be provided. The unit accepts first-time travelers as long as they have sufficient Operating Room experience. Additional skills required include knowledge of various surgical procedures and operations. Candidates must have experience in charting systems, preferably Epic. They may be asked to assist with various specialized surgical techniques. Patient demographics include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support is available through various services. The facility does not accept local travelers; candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility. Two years of experience in the specialty is required for all positions. References may be required prior to the start of contract.
