Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Hours (07:00 - 17:00) Experience: 1 Year License: State or Compact License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Strong experience in orthopedics, spine, robotics, and general surgery Charting experience with Epic Description: The Operating Room Registered Nurse must be able to circulate in orthopedics, spine, robotics, and general surgery. The position requires a minimum of one year of experience. Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted. The nurse will work with a patient ratio of 1:1. Previous charge experience is preferred. Skills required include performing a wide range of surgical procedures such as lobe resection, lung resection, thoracotomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and hernia repair. The role also involves performing laparoscopic assisted procedures, thyroidectomy, arthroscopy, and various orthopedic and spinal surgeries. Additional responsibilities include specimen handling, infection control, and adherence to universal protocol. Candidates will be responsible for ensuring patient safety and may utilize specialized equipment such as robotic surgical systems. Strong orthopedic experience is essential for this position. The daily census ranges from 15 to 18 patients, with five visits per day. The unit consists of six operating rooms. The role requires flexibility and the ability to respond to code situations. Candidates must complete onboarding procedures promptly upon acceptance of the position.
