Acts as a patient advocate. Responsible for meeting surgical standards of nursing practice. Maintains skills in setting priorities and organizing workload effectively. Adjusts to changes in assignment and integrates multiple assignments with multilevel personnel. Develops and implements total nursing care for patients through assessment, nursing diagnosis, and patient care plans. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with nursing and other patient team personnel. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Participates and implements age-specific care and interaction. Collaborates with the healthcare team in the assessment of the patient/family. Performs comprehensive assessments on all patients, including reassessments as per policy. Adequately assesses and reassesses pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
