Job Summary

Join Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation, a JCAHO accredited 73-bed facility located in Tuba City, Arizona. Serving as a vital referral center for the western Navajo and Hopi Reservations, this organization provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including emergency care, dental, ophthalmology, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, eye surgery, and urological procedures. Situated in the culturally rich, diverse community of Northwestern Arizona, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a wide range of healthcare services.

The Perioperative Registered Nurse delivers expert care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the Operating Room. This role involves applying the full nursing process, from assessment and diagnosis to planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient outcomes. The successful candidate will circulate across various surgical specialties, ensuring high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply the nursing process (assessment, formulation of nursing diagnoses, planning interventions, and evaluation of interventions) for perioperative patients.
  • Circulate in all Operating Room specialty areas, including Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Dental procedures.
  • Prepare efficiently for emergency surgical cases on very short notice.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Two (2) years of clinical nursing and/or operating room practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated scrubbing experience in an Operating Room setting.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in perioperative nursing care and circulating duties.
  • Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Adaptability to varied work hours and urgent case requirements.

Licensing Requirements
  • Valid, current, full, and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing in any state of the United States of America, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association within six (6) months of hire.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) by the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) within one (1) year of hire.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification within two (2) years of hire.
