**Job Description:**

**Position Qualifications:**
- Minimum Education: Completion of an NLN approved nursing program, with an Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of experience in an Operating Room setting.
**Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:**
- Must hold a valid Registered Professional Nurse license in good standing in the State of Alaska.
- Current BLS & ACLS certification is required, with PALS preferred.
- National Certification in Surgery/PACU is a plus.
**Equipment/Tools:**
- Proficiency in office equipment (computer, telephone, fax, copy machine) and medical equipment (cardiac monitors, autoclave).
**Specialized Knowledge and Skills:**
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
- Cognitive and technical knowledge required for managing care across the continuum.
- Flexibility in work schedule and capability for independent decision-making within prescribed limits.
- Proficient in the nursing process for patient care provision.
- Experience in administering treatments, interpreting diagnostics, and providing patient education.
- Knowledge of AORN standards is a must.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology.
- Ability to work effectively in a patient care setting.
**Language Skills:**
- Capability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and technical procedures.
- Proficient in documenting care delivery actions and following established guidelines.
- Skillful in presenting information and addressing questions from various stakeholders.
**Mathematical Skills:**
- Ability to perform calculations in various units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Competency in computing rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as interpreting graphs and inputting computer information.
**Reasoning Ability:**
- Skilled in solving practical problems and handling a variety of variables.
- Ability to interpret instructions in various formats including written, oral, and diagrammatic.
**Supervisory Responsibilities:**
- Oversee Administrative Assistants, Schedulers, and CSR Technicians in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.
