Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Surgical Specialty Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of acute care surgical floor experience; stepdown/PCU experience required. License: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association. Must-Have: - Experience in a med-surg unit, specifically with post-operative patients. - Experience with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT or DHT. - Ability to maintain patient care ratios of 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for stepdown care. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Monitors changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physicians in examinations and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with families and patients in sharing care plans during hospitalization and at discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
