Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 5x8 (07:00 - 15:00) Experience: 2 years preferred, travel experience preferred License: State or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Patient ratio experience preferred Description: The Operating Room Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the operating room setting. The nurse will circulate for various procedures, including general, orthopedic, obstetric, ENT, and podiatry. Pain management responsibilities will include rotating and weekend on-call duties. Experience with a variety of surgical procedures is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking and clinical skills. ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory. A focus on infection control and safety protocols is essential for this role. Candidates must be able to handle surgical instruments and utilize equipment effectively. Good communication skills are necessary for collaboration with the surgical team and patient interactions. The role may also involve managing specimens and adhering to safety protocols during procedures. Knowledge of the Universal Protocol, which includes time-outs, is required.
