Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data
  • Perform all circulating duties, including prepping the operating room, positioning the patient on the operating table, and utilizing appropriate sterile field protocols
  • Complete verification of the Safe Surgery Checklist in accordance with service excellence standards
  • Delegate, supervise, and evaluate activities of other team members while executing directives and interventions in urgent or emergent situations
  • Serve as the communication liaison between the patient's family and members of the operating team
  • Participate in assigned on-call scheduling as required and assist in the control and maintenance of supplies and equipment
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Operating Room clinical experience with proficiency in circulating duties
  • Ability to provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and standards of practice
  • Proficiency with computer programs utilized in patient care delivery
  • Ability to accurately and completely document all care information in a timely manner
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience working within or outside the sterile field in a surgical environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth through continuing education and goal setting
  • Strong customer relations skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers
