Call is not required. The nursing teams consist of a mix of Registered Nurses and Certified Surgical Technologists. Registered Nurses are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures. This is a busy and dynamic, nurse-driven department. The facility is a level-one trauma center with multiple operating room suites covering all surgical specialties. During hurricane season, assignment may include emergency response team duties. The facility prioritizes non-local candidates first.
