Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in the Gastroenterology (GI) Lab at an acute care facility in Cumming, Georgia. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing a wide range of diagnostic and interventional gastrointestinal and pulmonary procedures.
The successful candidate will be integral to a dynamic team, providing comprehensive care from pre-procedure assessment through intra-procedure assistance and post-procedure recovery. This position requires a commitment to patient safety, advanced clinical skills, and the ability to manage complex cases in a fast-paced environment.
This is a travel assignment; candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility location.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pre-procedure assessment, education, and preparation for patients undergoing GI and pulmonary procedures.
- Assist physicians during various endoscopic and interventional procedures, including but not limited to colonoscopies, EGDs, bronchoscopies, ERCPs, and EBUS.
- Monitor patient vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition throughout procedures and during recovery.
- Administer medications, manage IV access, and provide emergency care as needed.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of specialized GI lab equipment.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and families on post-procedure care, potential complications, and follow-up instructions.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, anesthesiologists, technicians, and other healthcare team members.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent, direct experience as a Registered Nurse in a Gastroenterology (GI) or Endoscopy Lab setting.
- Current active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia or a compact state license.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Ability to travel and reside outside a 50-mile radius from Cumming, Georgia for the duration of the assignment.

Shift Details
- Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, typically between 06:30 AM - 05:00 PM.
- Call Requirements: Required during the week and on weekends.
- Holiday Expectations: Must work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) if they fall within the assignment period.
- Contract Length: 13 weeks.
- Assignment Dates: August 31, 2026 - November 28, 2026.
Licensing Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia (or compact state license).
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
