Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | 36 Hours Guaranteed Per Week | Every Other Weekend Rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care on a 21-bed Hematology and Oncology unit, supporting diagnosis and treatment of hematological and oncological conditions
- Administer and monitor inpatient chemotherapy, maintaining a 1:4 staffing ratio with active chemo infusing
- Deliver palliative care, inpatient hospice, and end-of-life care with compassion and clinical expertise
- Care for specialized medical patients including those with tracheostomies, focusing on symptom management and supportive care for progressive diagnoses
- Float as needed to other post-surgical and medical-surgical inpatient floors
- Document and chart accurately using the Epic electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
- Active Kansas RN license or Multistate (Compact) RN license — no encumbrances or hits allowed, no exceptions
- AHA BLS certification required at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience
- ADN or BSN degree in Nursing
- No first-time travelers; prior travel nursing experience required
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the standard rate (no radius rule)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in oncology and/or hematology nursing strongly preferred
- Chemotherapy certification preferred
- Familiarity with Epic EMR; test-out option available
