Travel RN – Medical Oncology

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 33-bed Medical Oncology unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Conduct hourly rounds on day shift and 2-hour rounds after 9:00 PM to support patient experience standards
- Utilize Meditech for clinical documentation and iPhones with iMobile for communication and coordination
- Monitor patients via remote telemetry and utilize electronic white boards for unit communication
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, unit secretaries, a Charge RN, Clinical Manager, and Director
- Float to other units as needed per facility floating policy — travelers are first to float
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Strong patient-first attitude and commitment to compassionate, high-quality care
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Specialty certification in Med-Surg, Palliative Care, or ONS (Oncology Nursing Society)
- Experience with inpatient oncology nursing and familiarity with chemotherapy administration protocols
- Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
- ONS chemotherapy training (note: inpatient chemotherapy is administered by core nursing staff with ONS chemo training)
