    Nurse Coordinator - Oncology

    Location

    Needham, MA | Outpatient / Ambulatory Oncology

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Help patients navigate their cancer journey, coordinating the start of treatment and evaluation by other specialties
    • Perform telephone triage and provide symptom management support to oncology patients
    • Coordinate referrals to specialists, set up imaging and interventional radiology procedures, and make VNA/Hospice/DME referrals
    • Obtain authorization for specialty oral chemotherapy drugs and tee up prescription renewals
    • Ensure appropriate imaging follow-up and provide patient education throughout the care continuum
    • Work closely with medical oncology physicians and nurse practitioners to optimize the overall patient experience
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Massachusetts RN License required at time of submission
    • Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
    • Experience with telephone triage and strong phone communication skills
    • Experience coordinating VNA/Hospice/DME referrals and specialist referrals
    • Experience obtaining authorization for specialty oral chemotherapy drugs
    • Must not have worked at this facility as permanent staff or per diem within the last six months
    • Must live outside the local area — no local candidates will be considered
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Outpatient oncology care coordination experience strongly preferred
    • Hematology/Oncology (HemOnc) background working alongside physician teams
    • Strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple patient care tasks simultaneously
