    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Oncology (Med/Surg)

    Contract | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct inpatient nursing care to patients diagnosed with a broad range of cancers including bladder, kidney, breast, colorectal, liver, lung, ovarian/uterine, pancreatic, and prostate cancer
    • Administer chemotherapy via multiple routes including IV push, continuous infusion, and oral administration; monitor patients throughout treatment
    • Manage and dispose of cytotoxic spills and handle body fluids post-chemotherapy in accordance with safety protocols
    • Administer medications including antibiotics, antiemetics, antitumor agents, corticosteroids, hormonal therapies, and Neupogen
    • Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values using SBAR communication methodology; provide post-surgical care as needed
    • Document all patient care accurately using EPIC and utilize Pyxis medication management system
    Required Qualifications
    • Active, unencumbered California RN license — must be in hand at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted
    • BSN required
    • Minimum 3 years of inpatient oncology experience
    • ACLS certification required — must be in hand, no pending
    • BLS certification required — must be in hand, no pending
    • Chemotherapy certification (Chemo Cert) required — must be in hand, no pending
    • Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are considered local and are welcome to apply at the local rate
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with biotherapy including administration of interferons, interleukins, active immunotherapy, and cytotoxic therapy; ability to recognize and manage associated side effects
    • Experience with stem cell therapies, bone marrow administration, graft rejection, and graft-versus-host disease; care of patients with leukemia/blood dyscrasias, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, melanoma, and brain/ENT cancers
    • Proficiency in managing oncologic emergencies such as Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression
    • Experience with hospice and palliative care, advanced directives, radiation therapy, symptom management, chest tube care, tracheostomy care, wound care, and patient/family education and support
