Travel Nurse RN - Oncology in Dallas, TX

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient responses using the nursing process
• Perform patient assessments related to cancer care including allergies and hypersensitivity reactions, physical signs and symptoms, psychosocial dimensions, and support across the continuum of care (diagnosis, treatment, surveillance, and end of life)
• Administer medications safely using the six rights of medication administration and perform point-of-care monitoring while maintaining safe infection control practices
• Educate patients, families, and significant others on cancer care, therapies, treatment side effects, interventions, and prevention
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in patient care records and hospital documents
• Serve as a patient advocate, charge nurse on rotation, preceptor for newer nursing staff, and resource for unit nurses and other healthcare team members

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current Oncology RN experience (required)
• Active Texas RN license or Compact license (required)
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification (required)
• ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Provider Certificate (required)
• Experience with EPIC Beacon and Chemotherapy Infusion (required)
• Local candidates are welcome; candidates living within 60 miles of the facility will be subject to a local rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience serving as a charge nurse or preceptor in an oncology setting
• Familiarity with oncology nursing standards and cancer care across the full continuum including end-of-life care
• Experience working in a large public health or academic medical center environment
