Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed inpatient oncology unit, managing acute oncology symptoms and conditions including thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, and end-of-life care
Maintain patient ratios of 1:5, with occasional 1:6 assignments, supported by nurse aides
Monitor patients via central telemetry system; reading strips is not required
Receive and complete care for outpatient oncology patients transferred to the floor when the outpatient area closes
Document and manage patient care using Meditech EMR
Float to medical acute unit on a rare basis as needed
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience
At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
Current BLS certification
Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility (based on driver's license address); must provide this information at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
NIHSS certification preferred
ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) chemotherapy certification preferred; candidates wishing to administer chemotherapy must have a minimum of 2 years of oncology experience
Familiarity with Meditech EMR
