Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team. This position involves providing specialized care to patients in an outpatient infusion center, focusing on excellence in patient care and treatment.

Shift Information

• Shifts may vary between 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, and 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
• No weekend or on-call requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Administer intravenous (IV) therapies and medications as prescribed, including antibiotics, antifungals, steroids, and blood products.
• Provide maintenance care for central venous access devices and assist with the placement of peripherally inserted central venous catheters (PICC lines).
• Conduct IV immune globulin therapy, hydration therapy, and iron infusions.
• Educate patients on the self-administration of various medications and manage therapeutic phlebotomies.
• Specialize in the administration of various specialty medications for conditions such as Crohn's Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Multiple Sclerosis.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in outpatient oncology and infusion.
• Certification in Chemotherapy (ONS) and Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) are required.
• Proficient in peripheral IV insertion and experienced with ports, fistulas, and catheters.
• EPIC experience is mandatory.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• BSN is preferred.
• Previous traveler experience is preferred.

Training Requirements

• Completion of a 14-panel drug screen is required prior to employment.
• All new and returning staff must have de-escalation training completed as part of their onboarding process.

Physical Requirements

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates should ensure they can meet these physical demands.

Dress Code

Personal scrubs of any color are permitted, but designs or cartoons are not allowed. Hoodies are also prohibited.
