The RN assesses patients and identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems. They develop and implement individualized plans of care and evaluate patient responses. The RN utilizes knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients in transitioning through healthcare encounters without complications or delays. They delegate interventions to healthcare personnel based on patient condition and employee competencies. The RN serves as a patient advocate, focusing on patient needs, rights, confidentiality, and cultural preferences. They provide educational information and training to patients and family members.
