Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse with a specialty in Oncology for a 13-week contract assignment in State College, Pennsylvania. This role is based in an outpatient setting, focusing on providing comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the healthcare team, delivering professional nursing care, assisting providers, and actively engaging patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of care. This position requires a commitment to established standards of practice and a patient-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to oncology patients following established standards, practices, and healthcare techniques.
  • Demonstrate competence in making professional judgments pertaining to patient care.
  • Assist providers in patient care activities and deliver comprehensive patient education.
  • Actively participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of patient care.
  • Administer a variety of medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Utilize various types of medical equipment for examination and treatment procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of direct oncology nursing experience.
  • Current ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card, or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of hire.
