Description:
We are seeking a Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse for a cancer specialty hospital.
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in the field.
Familiarity with the Pyxis medication system and EPIC documentation is required.
Knowledge of SBAR communication is essential.
Weekend shifts and floating to other areas may be required.
The ideal candidate will have experience with care of patients who have various types of cancer including bladder, kidney, breast, colorectal, liver, lung, ovarian/uterine, pancreatic, and prostate cancer.
Candidates should be skilled in the administration of chemotherapy, including IV push and continuous infusion methods.
Experience managing and disposing of cytotoxic spills, as well as post-surgical care, is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medications such as antibiotics, antiemetics, and corticosteroids is essential.
The nurse will be responsible for patient and family education and support.
The role involves a thorough understanding of symptom management and care coordination.
Successful candidates will exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
