Description:
We are seeking an experienced Travel Oncology Infusion RN to support our Oncology and Infusion Services team.
The RN provides and administers nursing care to oncology and infusion patients in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner within the scope of a licensed Registered Nurse.
This role provides direct patient care in an outpatient infusion setting, including chemotherapy administration, infusion therapy, patient monitoring, and patient education.
Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and infusion medications as ordered.
Performing IV starts, port access, and central line care.
Operating infusion pumps and monitoring infusion therapy.
Monitoring patients for adverse reactions and changes in condition.
Providing patient education regarding treatments, medications, and symptom management.
Performing patient assessments, vital signs, and treatment monitoring.
Documenting all care within EMR.
Coordinating care with oncology providers and interdisciplinary team members.
Assisting with treatment preparation and chart review.
Ensuring appropriate lab orders, treatment verification, and insurance authorization.
Supporting oncology providers and infusion clinic operations.
Preferred qualifications include outpatient infusion experience, port/PICC access experience, and experience working in an oncology infusion clinic.
The work environment is an outpatient hospital-based infusion center serving oncology patients in a rural community.
