Job Description
Seeking experienced Travel Registered Nurses (RNs) for its Hematology/Oncology unit. Nurses will provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care to patients undergoing cancer treatment and related therapies, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support treatment, recovery, and patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
- Administer medications, chemotherapy, and other prescribed treatments within scope and competency.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Monitor treatment responses and promptly escalate clinical concerns.
- Educate patients and families about treatment, medications, and discharge planning.
- Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow hospital safety standards.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and patient experience goals.
Requirements
- Active New York State RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of Hematology/Oncology and/or Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
- BSN required for this position.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience required for travel candidates.
- EPIC experience highly preferred.
- Oncology certification preferred, but not mandatory.
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and patient-care skills.
