The nurse will administer chemotherapy, electrolytes, and blood products. The patient ratio is 1:6-7. Every other weekend work is required. There is no on-call duty associated with this role. Candidates must have experience with charting using an electronic medical record system. The preferred charting system experience is with EPIC. Candidates will be involved in patient education and supportive care treatments. The unit primarily cares for oncology patients, including those with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. Nurses will assist with procedures such as blood transfusions and lumbar punctures. This role involves managing intravenous lines and administering medications via IV push. Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education are essential. Candidates must be comfortable floating within their specialty as needed. BLS and ACLS certifications are required, with a preference for additional chemotherapy certification.
