Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a large urban hospital License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Chemotherapy certification preferred Must-Have: - Experience with EPIC charting system - Prior experience in a Level I trauma facility - Ability to float to other units as needed Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in oncology. The RN will care for adult oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, high-dose chemotherapy, or undergoing complex medication and blood product administration. This is a mixed acuity unit. RNs must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs. Travelers will not administer chemotherapy. RNs may care for up to five Med Surg patients. Patient ratios are 1:4 during the day and 1:5 at night. BLS certification is required, with ACLS and chemotherapy certifications preferred. Candidates must have 2 years of prior experience in a large urban hospital. Experience with intravenous medication administration and various oncology-related treatments is essential. RNs will assist with patient education and support. All candidates must adhere to a strict no nicotine policy. Weekend shifts include 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. Travelers are expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays. Locals are not accepted; candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility. Pending licenses may be accepted, but must be finalized before starting. All RNs are required to wear designated scrubs during their shifts.
