Job Title: Level 2 RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: - Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience required. - Minimum 1 year of travel experience required. - High acuity unit, mentor/charge experience required. License: - Current, unencumbered state nursing license required. Certifications: - BLS certification required. Must-Have: - Ability to arrive within 1 hour if called in for on-call shifts. - Flexible availability for holidays and weekends. Description: This nurse is responsible for patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The primary focus is on delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological health upon admission and throughout their hospital stay. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on changes in conditions or responses to treatment. Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately. Monitor and assess patient responses to medications and treatments. Perform wound care, dressing changes, and manage drains or tubes as required. Monitor vital signs and document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Identify and report any changes in patient status or complications. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient care. Participate in daily rounds and provide updates on patient status to the medical team. Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans and treatment options. Educate patients and their families on managing conditions and preparing for discharge. Provide guidance on post-hospital care and offer emotional support to patients and families. Monitor patients recovering from surgery, assessing for complications. Provide post-operative care, including pain management and wound care. Ensure that patients are educated on managing their recovery at home. Maintain patient safety by following protocols for infection control and safety measures. Follow hospital policies related to medication administration and patient confidentiality. Recognize and respond to emergencies, providing immediate care for life-threatening conditions. Perform life-saving interventions as needed. Qualifications: Registered Nurse with a valid state nursing license. Strong clinical knowledge and nursing skills, particularly in patient assessment and medication administration. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate, patient-focused approach to nursing care.
