The unit also administers immunotherapy infusions, provides blood transfusions, and assists with lumbar punctures and intrathecal chemotherapy.

Experience must include accessing and managing ports, administering blood and blood products, and administering chemotherapy. Skills required also include care coordination and recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values. The unit treats oncology patients, including those with solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and post-transplant needs. The unit also administers immunotherapy infusions, provides blood transfusions, and assists with lumbar punctures and intrathecal chemotherapy. Compliance with provided patient care protocols and procedures is essential. Candidates must be comfortable floating as needed without restrictions or special requests. Return travelers must be away for at least six months from the system after their completion of assignments.
