Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Oncology-Hematology – Kansas

Start Date: Multiple orientation dates available beginning October 2026 (bi-weekly start dates)

Location: Topeka, Kansas

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week, every other weekend rotation, holiday rotation required (2 federal holidays and 3 non-essential holidays per year; 1 holiday request permitted)

Highlights:
  • 21-bed specialty unit focused on hematological and oncology diagnoses, palliative care, inpatient hospice/end-of-life care, and specialized medical patients
  • Inpatient chemotherapy administration with symptom management and supportive care for progressive diagnoses
  • Staffing ratios of 1:6 typical patients; 1:4 when active chemotherapy is infusing
  • Epic charting system with test-out option available
  • Contract length of 26 weeks preferred; longer contracts up to 51 weeks welcomed and receive priority
  • Float requirements to other post-surgical and medical-surgical inpatient floors as needed
Requirements:
  • Active Kansas or Multistate (Compact) RN license required at submission (no exceptions for license issues)
  • AHA BLS certification required at time of submission
  • Chemotherapy certification preferred
  • ADN or BSN degree
  • Minimum 1 year acute care nursing experience required; oncology/hematology experience preferred
  • Vaccination requirements: Immunity status for Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella (titer or proof of series completion), TDaP, TB documentation, and Influenza vaccine or exemption during flu season
  • No first-time travelers
