Job Title: Oncology Infusion RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Chemo Certified Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC) Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with Epic charting system required - Must be able to float between facilities as needed Description: This position is for an Oncology Infusion RN. The nurse will float between multiple facilities. The shift is 3 days a week, 12 hours per shift. The patient ratio will be 1:6. Weekend requirements are not applicable. First-time travelers are accepted. No on-call shifts are required. The position involves understanding and managing various types of chemotherapy and treatment procedures. Skills required include accessing and managing ports, administering chemotherapy and blood products, and managing side effects. This role requires a comprehensive approach to patient care in an infusion center setting. The daily census is between 50-60 patients for infusion. Interdisciplinary support is available, including IV teams and pharmacy services. Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to recognize and manage side effects of treatment. Experience in outpatient oncology settings is beneficial. Compliance with all health and safety regulations is mandatory. Candidates should have the capacity to float within hospitals or to affiliate facilities as necessary. The role demands a commitment to providing high-quality patient care and support throughout the treatment process.
