Description:
This position is for a registered nurse specializing in oncology.
The role may involve assignments to an emergency team during critical events.
Travelers should be ready to stay until events pass.
Patient population includes hematology, medical oncology, and bone marrow transplant patients.
The unit has a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio and accepts first-time travelers.
Staff will be required to float as necessary and cover weekends every other week.
Nurses will be responsible for procedures such as bedside central venous catheter placements and bone marrow biopsies.
Equipment used includes IV pumps, barcode medication administration, and feeding pumps.
In this role, you will engage in duties such as management of ports, administration of chemotherapy and blood products, and dysrhythmia interpretation.
Experience in telemetry and medical-surgical nursing is preferred.
This position requires collaborative work with interdisciplinary teams.
Client protocols for safety and patient care must be followed.
Candidates must be comfortable with the demands of nursing in an oncology setting.
Travelers are required to complete all necessary documentation for licensure.
References from previous supervisors may be required for clearance.
