# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit RN – Oncology Telemetry – OhioStart Date: October 5, 2026Location: Columbus, OhioCompensation: Details provided to qualified applicantsSchedule: Day/Night rotating shifts (12-hour shifts). Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department needs. Ratios: 1:3 PCU, 1:4-5 Medical-Surgical Telemetry. Weekend shifts variable based on unit needs. Float required to equivalent or lower acuity units.Highlights:- 36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to progressive care level of acuity- Patient population includes solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses- Oncology experience preferred but not required; ICU and PCU backgrounds are well-suited for this role- Epic charting system; equipment includes GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, PCA pumps, and continuous bladder irrigation- 72 hours of orientation provided- Strong interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and moreRequirements:- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of current PCU experience- Certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)- Active Ohio state license or compact license- Epic charting experience required- Previous travel nursing experience preferred- Must provide 2 professional references (at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor)- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)Skills Required:Interpretation of dysrhythmias, rapid response team utilization, feeding tube care, accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, peripheral line care, IV insertion, heparin protocols, managing cardiac drips (no titration), PCA management, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of ABGs, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management.Skills Preferred:Management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, titration of insulin and cardiac drips, phlebotomy, chemotherapy administration and monitoring, wound care/wound vac, arterial line management, surgical drains, and non-invasive airway management.Why It's a Great Opportunity:This position offers the chance to provide high-acuity progressive care to oncology patients in a specialized telemetry environment with comprehensive support services.
