Job Opportunity – Acute Leukemia and Hematology RN – Ohio
Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts (D/N rotation based on departmental needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period). Weekend coverage variable based on unit needs. Float to other Medical/Surgical Oncology units as needed.
Highlights:
- Specialty focus on acute leukemia population, primarily newly diagnosed patients
- Medical unit with high volume of blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
- Goal staffing ratio of 1:4, may occasionally reach 1:5
- 24-bed unit with daily census of approximately 22 patients
- Epic charting system; GE telemetry monitoring
- 72-hour orientation provided; oncology experience preferred but not required
- No chemotherapy certification required for this position
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience (must be current and consistent within the last 12 months)
- At least 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) experience required
- Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of application)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- ONS Chemotherapy Certification preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Demonstrated skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and peripheral/central line care
- Experience with feeding tube care and management, and use of Rapid Response Teams
- Epic charting experience required
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
