Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Oncology (MS ONC) specialty position is located on a dedicated oncology floor within an acute care hospital. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to adult patients receiving chemotherapy and other oncology treatments. The position offers a 12-hour day shift schedule, with an emphasis on maintaining clinical excellence in a high-acuity environment.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour days
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, from 10/12/2026 to 01/11/2027
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license, minimum 1 year of relevant experience, active BLS certification, chemotherapy certification (preferred), and experience with infusion therapy, port management, and chemotherapy administration. Must be flexible to float within scope as needed.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cerner electronic charting system, trauma level I experience, community hospital experience, and previous travel experience.
• Certifications: BLS, chemo certification (ONS/ONCC), OCN, ONS/ONCC.
• Additional Information: This role involves administering chemotherapy, managing central lines and ports, recognizing abnormal lab values, and providing patient/family education. The environment includes interdisciplinary support such as pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, and other services.
• RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days, must work at least 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Minimum Experience: 0 years required.
