- **Unit:** K9A - Oncology/Women’s Surgical
- **Number of Beds:** 24
- **Number of Staff:** 42
- **Staffing Schedule:**
- **Day Shift:**
- 1 CNC
- 4-6 RNs
- 2 CNAs
- 1 HUC
- **Night Shift:**
- 1 CNC
- 4-6 RNs
- 2 CNAs
- **Patient Ratios:** 1:4 or 1:5
- **Equipment:** Standard unit equipment
- **Electronic Medical Records (EMR):** Cerner
- **Typical Hiring Profile:**
- **Must Have:**
- Current RN or CNA License
- BLS Certification
- **Preferred:**
- Chemo Certification
- **Procedures Performed on Unit:**
- Occasional pelvic exams
- Echo procedures
- Thoracentesis
- **Ideal Candidate:**
- Team players
- Willing to learn and grow
- **Required Certifications:** None at this time
- **Floating Area:**
- Other med-surg units (team rarely floats)
- **Dress Code:**
- RNs: Navy, white, or a combination of both
- CNAs: Galaxy Blue
- **Unit Guidelines/Policies:**
- Basic hospital policies and guidelines
- **Weekend Requirements:**
- Staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule
- Rare on-call duty
