TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Oncology RN in Saint Louis, Missouri, 63110!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of oncology experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS BLS Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) Must-Have: Oncology experience required Chemotherapy administration experience required Telemetry interpretation skills required Description: The registered nurse will provide care in the oncology department. Experience in administering chemotherapy and managing dysrhythmias is essential. The nurse will float within the oncology department as needed. The average patient ratio is 4:1 for all shifts. The daily census is approximately 30 patients. Every other weekend work is required. The role involves administering auto stem cell transplants. The nurse will be responsible for accessing and managing ports. Administration of blood products and performing central line blood draws are required. The nurse will care for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood cancers. Proper isolation precautions and safe handling of chemotherapy agents must be followed. Telemetry monitoring and interpretation are necessary skills for this position. The nurse will be part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with various support services. Ability to recognize and manage side effects of treatments is crucial. The nurse must have strong assessment skills and be able to communicate abnormal lab values effectively. In this role, the registered nurse should demonstrate compassion and advocacy for patients throughout their treatment journey.
