Description:
The position is for a registered nurse in an oncology setting.
The nurse will provide care to patients with solid tumors such as lung, breast, and pancreatic cancers, as well as patients undergoing BMT.
The average stay for patients is typically 3-5 days.
The nurse will be responsible for IV starts, administering chemotherapy (not required for all), trach care, accessing ports and central lines, and caring for patients in various stages of treatment.
The nurse will also work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, respiratory services, and social services.
The facility focuses on patient-centered care, ensuring that all patient needs are met efficiently and compassionately.
Weekend shifts will be required every other week.
Total staffed beds in the facility include a variety of service areas.
Nurses are expected to manage a daily census of approximately 32 patients.
Additional qualifications include strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Travelers must meet compliance requirements, including certifications and skill validations, before starting the assignment.
