TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Oncology RN in Albany, Georgia, 31701!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology - Medical Surgical Duration: 24 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: 1 year experience required with 1 travel assignment. BLS certification is required. NIHSS certification preferred. ONS certification required for chemotherapy with 2 years of experience in specialty. No first-time travelers. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Oncology - Medical Surgical specialty. The nurse will work on a unit with 29 beds. The typical nurse-patient ratio is 1:5, with occasional 1:6. The system used for charting is Meditech. Charge nurse duties are based on staffing needs, except in unusual circumstances. There will be generally 3 nurse aides available per day. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend. Holiday shifts will rotate among staff. Scrub color is Caribbean Blue. The unit does utilize telemetry with a central monitor, but reading strips is not a requirement. Floating to other areas is rare, and floor-specific orientation will be provided. Common diagnoses include acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, medical overflow, oncology, and end-of-life care. Outpatient area patients may come to the floor to finish treatment if running late and the outpatient area has closed.
