Job Summary
Medical Surgical Oncology Nurse (MS ONC) Flexible Locations. This position involves providing specialized oncology nursing care across various units within multiple healthcare facilities. The role requires adaptability, strong clinical skills, and certification in chemotherapy administration and biotherapy. The nurse will assess, plan, and deliver patient-centered care primarily in a fast-paced oncology setting.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC) certification required; minimum of 1 year of clinical experience; valid Compact state license in hand at submission; able to work in locations within 50 miles.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Experience with Autologous Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T therapy patients preferred.
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment.
- Willingness to float between units and facilities as needed based on skill set.
- Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, monitoring for adverse reactions, caring for ports and central lines, managing symptoms such as tumor lysis syndrome and neutropenic precautions, and providing patient education.
- Candidates must commit to working three of five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day). All scheduling requests must be made upfront during submittal.
- Must include responses to specific candidate questions regarding prior experience at Providence facilities and submit two recent references.
- Additional details: The assignment is for a short-term acute care facility with a total of 418 beds. This role may require travel and floating to other units to meet patient care needs, with additional incentives for work at specific facilities.
