The unit is a general medical-surgical and oncology/hematology unit with telemetry capability. It consists of private rooms designated for both medical-surgical and oncology patients. Care is provided to young adult through geriatric oncology and hematology patients. The unit also manages general medical/surgical overflow patients. Nurses will be responsible for administering chemotherapy and managing patient care related to various diagnoses. Skills in accessing and managing ports, administering blood products, and telemetry monitoring are needed. Knowledge of non-invasive airway management and wound care is also beneficial. Interdisciplinary support is available from various services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. All applicants must complete core onboarding items and labs within a specified timeframe upon acceptance of the contract. Hours spent in modules during orientation are considered non-billable. Previous staff must observe a waiting period before returning as a traveler. Candidates should meet all compliance requirements prior to beginning employment.
