Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an Oncology unit with estimated patient ratios of 1:3-4, flexing to 1:5
• Administer and monitor IV therapies including blood and electrolyte replacement using Baxter pumps
• Adhere to unit protocols including neutropenic precautions, strict intake and output monitoring, CHG baths, dressing changes, and line/cap maintenance schedules
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
• Float to Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant units as needed
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses and patient care technicians on a 21-bed oncology floor

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be valid for the state of Texas or compact eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Oncology nursing experience
• Proficiency with IV therapy and infusion pumps

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Hematology/Oncology (HemOnc) background
• Chemotherapy certification
• Experience with bone marrow transplant patient populations
