Description:
This is an oncology nursing position.
The unit has a total of 41 beds.
Staffing includes 1 charge nurse, up to 5 RNs, and 2 PCTs during day shifts.
During night shifts, staffing includes 1 charge nurse, up to 5 RNs, and 1 PCT.
Patient ratios are estimated at 4:1, with a maximum of 5:1.
The unit utilizes Baxter pumps as part of the equipment.
Electronic medical records are managed through Meditech.
The ideal candidate will have a general medical oncology understanding.
Familiarity with ports and central lines is preferred.
Typical procedures performed on this unit include daily blood and electrolyte replacement and sterile dressing changes.
A team-centered approach is essential for this role.
