• Unit Information:
  • Number of Beds: 21 (current census: 8-12)
  • Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3/4 RNs, 1 PCT
    • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3/4 RNs, 1 PCT
  • Patient Ratios (Estimated): 1:3/4, flex to 5
  • Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps
  • EMR: Meditech
• Typical Hiring Profile:
  • Must Have Skills:
    • Oncology background
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Hemonc background
    • Chemo certification
• Typical Procedures on Unit:
  • Replacing blood and electrolytes
• Best Personality Fit: Compassionate and caring individuals who thrive in a supportive environment.
• Required Certifications:
  • RN
  • BLS
• Floating Areas: Hemeonc, Bone Marrow Transplant
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
• Unit Guidelines/Policies:
  • Neutropenic precautions
  • Strict I and O
  • CHG Bath and linen change q24 hours
  • Dressing change q7 days
  • Lines and caps every 96 hours
  • No children under 16 allowed
• Weekends and On Call:
  • Rotating weekends, no on call
• Years of Experience Required: 1 year
