RN - Labor & Delivery (Acute)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to obstetric patients in a 2-suite Labor & Delivery department performing approximately 80 deliveries per year, with mom and baby rooming together.
- Attend C-sections as needed, serving as the responsible RN for the mother alongside a Provider, CRNA, Surgical Tech, and OR RN.
- Operate as the sole RN in the OB department during assigned shifts, with an additional RN allocated when a second patient is present.
- Float to the Medical-Surgical (Patient Care Unit) when the OB department has no active patients.
- Utilize department-specific technology including Hugs Infant Security Tags, Philips ultrasound equipment, and OB Trace View for documentation.
- Participate in self-scheduling on a rotational basis with scheduling committee review and approval, including every third weekend.
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- Reliable personal transportation is required, as rideshare services are not available in the area.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience floating to Medical-Surgical or general Patient Care Units.
- Familiarity with OB Trace View documentation systems or similar electronic health record platforms.
- Experience assisting with or supporting C-section procedures in an acute care setting.
