TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified OB/GYN RN in Peru, Illinois, 61354!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Obstetrics Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Active license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, C-EFM, NRP Must-Have: Stabilization of the newborn Ability to circulate for C-sections Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse with experience in the Obstetrics specialty. The unit has a total of 4 labor and delivery beds, 1 LDRP bed, and 6 postpartum beds. There is a requirement of 36 guaranteed hours per week. The nurse will work 12-hour night shifts. Common diagnoses include low-risk obstetric patients and stable newborns at or above 36 weeks gestation. High-risk obstetric patients will be managed jointly with Client-Fetal Medicine. The nurse will be expected to titrate certain drips, with heparin managed by other departments. A charge nurse or house supervisor will be present on each shift. OB techs who are certified nursing aides will assist in the unit. Monitoring of fetal heart rates will be conducted by registered nurses and providers. The department has a variety of monitoring equipment available for both fetal and newborn monitoring. Shifts will require working three weekends within a six-week period, as well as participation in holiday rotation. Floating to other units may occur based on staffing needs. Dress code is flexible; however, hospital-provided scrubs must be worn in the OR during procedures. An orientation specific to the department will be provided.
